TRC invites bids for electric locomotive maintenance services

Dodoma. The Tanzania Railways Corporation (TRC) has announced an international call for tenders seeking qualified firms to provide maintenance services for electric locomotives during the 2025/26 financial year.

The tender, published under reference number TR126/2025/2026/NC/12, follows a General Procurement Notice issued on 9 July 2025 through the National e-Procurement System of Tanzania (NeST).

According to TRC, funds have been earmarked by the government to support the corporation’s operations, part of which will finance eligible payments for the planned maintenance works.

In a statement, TRC said the invitation is open to reputable companies at local, regional, and international levels.

The corporation stressed that the procurement process would uphold fairness, transparency, and accountability in line with the Public Procurement Act, Cap 410 (R.E. 2022) and its regulations.

The tender was formally advertised on 2 September 2025 and is accessible through the NeST platform at https://www.nest.go.tz. Interested and eligible bidders are required to register, access, and submit their proposals electronically.

TRC noted that tenders must be submitted before the deadline indicated on the system, and late submissions will not be considered under any circumstances.

The bids will be opened promptly after the submission deadline within NeST.
