BRELA transitions to new online services system

The Business Registrations and Licensing Agency (BRELA) has officially launched an upgraded service delivery platform known as BRELA Online Services (BOS). 

Effective from April 8, 2026, the new system aims to enhance operational efficiency and streamline the registration process for stakeholders across Tanzania.

The transition marks a significant step in the government's broader initiative to digitalise public services and improve the ease of doing business.

The BOS platform currently handles specific types of new applications. Users can now register new business names and apply for industrial licences through the dedicated portal at [https://bos.brela.go.tz].

This targeted rollout ensures that the most frequent administrative tasks are prioritised in the system's early phase.

For ongoing applications, BRELA has maintained the existing Online Registration System (ORS).

Clients with active files must complete their processes via the original link at [https://ors.brela.go.tz] to ensure continuity.

Furthermore, services regarding company registrations, patents, and trademarks remain hosted on the ORS platform for the time being.

Existing ORS account holders are provided with two primary methods to access the new BOS system.

Users may enter their registered email address and select the "forgot password" option to receive a secure login link.

Alternatively, stakeholders can choose to create a completely new account directly on the BOS portal.

BRELA has established dedicated support channels to assist the public during this transition period.
