Tanzania aviation authority opens licensing window for air and ground handling services
In a public notice, the Authority stated that its Licensing Board will convene on November 6, 2025 to deliberate on applications for air transport services, aeronautical airport services, including ground handling, in-flight catering, fuelling, and air navigation services.
Dar es Salaam. The Tanzania Civil Aviation Authority (TCAA) has invited applications for air and ground handling services licences, presenting opportunities for both new operators and existing service providers whose permits are due for renewal.
In a public notice, the Authority stated that its Licensing Board will convene on November 6, 2025 to deliberate on applications for air transport services, aeronautical airport services, including ground handling, in-flight catering, fuelling, and air navigation services.
The announcement targets investors and operators seeking to either enter the aviation support services market or extend their existing operations.
According to TCAA, applicants wishing to renew their licences, vary them, or submit fresh applications must do so before 15:30 hours on September 5, 2025.
The Authority emphasised that applications for Air Services Licences will be processed under the Tanzania Civil Aviation (Licensing of Air Services) Regulations, 2006, while those for Ground Handling Services will be guided by the Civil Aviation (Ground Handling Services) Regulations, 2012.
Regulatory documents and application forms are available at TCAA Headquarters, Aviation House, Ukonga–Banana, or can be downloaded from the Authority’s website (www.tcaa.go.tz).
The move is expected to attract more players into Tanzania’s growing aviation industry, particularly in areas such as ground handling, in-flight catering, and fuelling services, which are seen as critical to enhancing efficiency at airports and supporting the country’s broader air transport sector.
