Dar es Salaam. Members of the Tanzania Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture (TCCIA) are expected to reap substantial benefits from the newly introduced Tanzania Chamber Portal (TCP)—a digital platform officially launched to streamline the delivery of business-related services.

The portal is designed to simplify registration processes for members, facilitate the issuance of Certificates of Origin, and provide a digital avenue for submitting non-tariff and non-customs-related challenges through the integrated Helpdesk and Non-Tariff Barriers (NTBs) services.

Speaking during the official opening of a three-day capacity-building workshop for TCCIA officials from the Dar es Salaam Region this week, TCCIA President Vicent Minja described the platform as a vital tool for enhancing transparency, accountability, and efficiency in member services.

“The TCP system marks a significant milestone in improving service delivery to our members and easing business communication,” said Mr Minja during the training held at Johari Rotana Hotel in Dar es Salaam.

The workshop aims to equip TCCIA officers with in-depth knowledge of the system’s operations to ensure faster and more professional assistance to members across the country.

According to TCCIA, the development of the TCP aligns with the chamber’s broader efforts to embrace digital transformation and modernise its operations.

The initiative seeks to empower entrepreneurs, traders, and industrial players to conduct their business activities efficiently and competitively in both domestic and international markets.

Officials noted that the TCP will also serve as a one-stop platform where members can access key trade-related documents, seek guidance on export procedures, and engage with the chamber on policy or operational issues affecting the business environment.

By integrating digital tools into its operations, TCCIA hopes to reduce bureaucratic delays, enhance data management, and promote transparency in certification and communication processes.

The platform further demonstrates the chamber’s commitment to supporting the government’s digital economy agenda and creating a more conducive environment for investment and trade.

The launch of the TCP represents a milestone in TCCIA’s ongoing transformation journey, reflecting a shift towards technology-driven solutions that respond to the needs of a fast-evolving business landscape.
